Personalised dental care

WElcome to ORANTOWN DENTAL

Orantown Dental Centre is a family-centred dental surgery in the Orantown Shopping Centre in Oranmore, Co. Galway. We welcome all ages, seeing you through from your first tooth to your senior years. The original surgery started with Dorcas in 2001 and has grown in size and staff to two dentists and a dental hygienist. Our dentists are ably assisted by a team of dental assistants: Rosaleen, Sinead, Nicole Ruth & Katherine will look after you. Our aim is to guide you through your dental journey, whatever your needs may be. We pride ourselves in being particularly good with children, and with people who have a fear of the dentist or are nervous. All of our surgeries provide the highest standard of professional dental care using the highest quality materials available.

Meet the Team

Dr Dorcas Whitney

BDS NUI

Dorcas graduated from UCC in 1993. She worked extensively through the UK, Australia and Nepal. In 2001 she returned to Ireland and opened Orantown Dental Centre. Over the past 20 years, this practice has continued to thrive and provide quality dental care. Dorcas specialises in providing general dental treatment and in conjunction with surrounding specialists, all treatments can be provided. Dorcas was very happy to receive the Colgate Connacht Caring Dentist of the Year award in 2019. She is well known for her ability to treat nervous patients. When not on the sidelines of a GAA pitch supporting her 2 daughters, Dorcas dabbles in running, sea swimming and the odd triathlon.

Dr Aideen Buckley

BDS NUI

Aideen qualified from University College Cork 2017 with an honours degree. Originally from Cork, I have loved the move to Oranmore. I love working in Orantown Dental Centre. I particularly love working with children and have a special interest in the treatment of nervous patients of all ages. I aim to put them at ease from the moment they come in and to put to bed any fears or phobias they have of coming to the dentist. My goal is to maintain a happy, healthy mouth and smile.

Ms. Síle Melia

Our hygienist

Síle joined Orantown Dental in 2016 after graduating from UCC with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene in June 2015. She received the Colm O’Sullivan Gold Medal, Sensodyne Award and TePe Oral Hygiene Award from UCC in December 2015. Síle is registered with the Dental Council and is also a member of the Irish Dental Hygienist’s Association.

Ruth Raftery

Nurse

Ruth is one of our nurses in Orantown Dental.

Ruth trained as a dental nurse in Trinity College Dublin, and worked in Dublin for many years before moving to Galway and joining the Orantown dental team.

Roseleen Crowe

receptionist

Rose has worked on the reception at Orantown Dental Centre for more than 20 years now.

I welcome and look after all our patients when they first arrive and make sure they are well looked after and leave our practice happy.

Katherine Little

Nurse/receptionist

Katherine qualified as a dental nurse at Trinity College Dublin 18 years ago. 14 years ago I was fortunate enough to find myself at Orantown Dental surrounded by a great team of professionals with whom firm friendships have now been forged. Testament to the consistently high level of care given to our patients is the number of long term regulars who have become so familiar.
My real passions are the sea, swimming and horses. I am dedicated to my work and colleagues and derive great pleasure from the continuing success of our popular and thriving dental surgery.

Nicole Fenton

Nurse/receptionist

Nicole has been part of the team here for many years. I am a qualified dental nurse with great patience and skills to help ensure your visit is a pleasant one.
